Urban Futures papers at the 2021 SIEF congress

Urban Futures researchers organize a panel and will present the first project results at the 15th congress of the International Society for Ethnology and Folklore, held from the 19th to the 24th June 2021 (Helsinki, online). The congress’ theme is Breaking the rules? Power, participation, transgression.

Saša Poljak Istenič (ZRC SAZU), Valentina Gulin Zrnić (Institut for Ethnology and Folklore Research) and Alexandra Schwell (Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt, Austria) organize the panel In the Name of the Future: Rule-breaking in Urban Settings. Project researchers will present the following topics:

Valentina Gulin Zrnić and Saša Poljak Istenič: Negotiating visions of the urban future: Zagreb and Ljubljana comparatively

Miha Kozorog: Autonomy, obedience, and entrepreneurialism in Slovenian youth venues

Katja Hrobat Virloget: When the past haunts the future. Challenging the hegemonic discourses in the contested Istrian towns, Slovenia
